Built From a Truck and a Work Ethic

Scrap Squad started the same way most things worth doing get started — with a truck, a work ethic, and a neighbor who needed a hand. What began as a side job hauling junk for people in the community turned into something unexpected: a full-time business built almost entirely on word of mouth.

The founder grew up in Wilmington, Delaware. K through 12, local schools, the whole deal. Spent years traveling the country after high school, but kept coming back. Wilmington has a charm that’s hard to explain — it’s a blue-collar community full of hard-working people in trades, unions, and small businesses. It’s home.

People in the area kept calling because the crew showed up when he said he would, charged what he quoted, and got the job done right. That’s still the whole business model today.
